GALLERY: Timmins tops Cochrane to remain unbeaten

COCHRANE, Ont. – Another solid offensive effort by the Timmins Rock Friday saw them handle the Cochrane Crunch 7-1 in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League play at Tim Horton Events Centre.

An early man advantage helped the visiting Rock get on the board first thanks to Liam Wells banking one in from the right of Cochrane goaltender Jake Dubinsky.

Timmins then tacked on another at 11:30 that saw Brady Harroun left with a tap-in after a scramble at the top of the crease, following an attempt on target from the left point.

Not done there, the visitors added another before the intermission, via the man advantage, that saw Kenyon Nyman convert by blasting one from just inside the blueline.

Moving to the middle stanza, the Rock extended their cushion when Daniel Beaupre completed some crafty stick work by teammate Nicolas Pigeon at 3:57.

The Timmins power play went to work again midway through the proceedings and was finished off by Felix Cadieux-Fredette cranking one from up top to make it 5-0.

Nyman helped put the game out of reach in the third as he fired in his second of the night from the point.

Cochrane’s Cameron Frost did dash the Rock’s Jacob Brown’s shutout bid with 8:23 to go as he chipped in the rebound off a Black Menard shot.

Timmins did answer with one more before time expired as Harroun made a nifty pass over to Nicholas Frederick, who was left plenty of net to shoot at.

With the outcome, the Rock remain undefeated on the season at 4-0-0-0 while the Crunch fell to 1-3-0-0.
