TIMMINS, Ont. – Getting two tallies apiece from Thomas Beard, Nolan Ring and Brady Harroun, along with shutout goaltending from Patrick Boivin, sent the Timmins Rock on their way to a 7-0 triumph over the Cochrane Crunch in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League play Friday at McIntyre Arena.

Rock rookie forward Beard helped the hosts early by notching his first NOJHL goal as an errant puck found him alone between the hash marks where he proceeded to wrist it past Crunch netminder Jake Dubinsky at 4:21.

The score line stayed 1-0 Timmins early into the middle frame when they won a draw over to Liam Wells, who darted around the net, and put it in front and Beard finished off the play he started by lifting the puck into the top left-hand corner.

Some impressive puck by the Rock extended their edge and was completed when Kyle Trottier fed Harroun in the slot, who in turn scored through a screen in front at 8:50.

Continuing to press the pace, the hosts tacked on another when Ring tipped in his third of the season from close range after being set-up by Luas Lowe for the easy tap-in.

A splendid dash up ice by Timmins’ Ethan Pool contributed to a fifth goal as he did the leg-work before Ring chipped it in over Dubinsky who was in a pile-up with Pool, who had fallen off the initial rush.

A crafty between the legs marker by the Rock’s Nicolas Pigeon resulted in the night’s sixth tally as his splendid move wrapped-up the one-sided result.

Harroun then wrapped up the scoring as he reached the 10-goal plateau on the campaign in the late going.

The shutout for Boivin was his first of the season and fourth of his NOJHL career.

With the result, Timmins improved to 6-3-1-1 while Cochrane fell to 3-8-1-0 in defeat.
