The Crunch started announcing new players by starting with local product Goalie Kurtis David from Cochrane Ontario. Kurtis who is coming to the Crunch from the Kapuskasing Flyers AAA Midgets spent the last two seasons in Kap and has been getting better and better each season. The Crunch have been keeping an eye on Kurtis since last year and have had him out a few times for skates this past season.
Kurtis will be attending Cochrane High again next year for his grade 13 and he hopes to attend university and maybe play in the CIS route, He will working at the beach in town as a lifeguard.
I asked him “What are you looking foward to the most as a Cochrane Crunch player?”
“Getting to play back home in front of the home crowd and the quickness and intensity of this level”
Coach Leonard feels Kurtis will be a big asset to our club as he is a great team guy who is athletic, energetic and willing to put in the work to get better. Kurtis will play behind a great mentor in Brett Young who will be the Crunch’s starting goalie again this season between Brett and Kurtis we have complete confidence that they can get the job done!
