FOREST CITY, IA – The Waldorf Hockey Team is adding two more players to its 2022-23 squad. Waldorf Head Coach Mike Heitkamp announced the recent commitments of goaltender Sean Bolduc and forward Cale Anderson.
Bolduc, a native of Colorado Springs, Colo., will help add goaltending depth to the Warrior roster. The Warriors plan to carry four goalies for the upcoming season. The six-foot, 200 lb. Bolduc most recently played junior hockey for the Danbury Hat Tricks of the NA3HL. During that season, the Hat Tricks qualified for the national tournament. In the prior season, Bolduc suited up for the Rochester Vipers in the USPHL Premier League. He also played four years of high school hockey at Palmer High School in Colorado Springs.
“Sean was recommended to the coaching staff by one of our current players,” said Coach Heitkamp. “He has quite the story to tell about his life and hockey career over the last few years. I was excited talking to Sean about his commitment and love of the game, and what his plans are for his collegiate experience. He comes highly recommended as a great person and a great teammate. I look forward to seeing his development over the next few years. I have a feeling that Sean will enjoy a great career here at Waldorf University.”
Anderson, a native of Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada, will play forward for the Warriors in 2022-23. Last season, Anderson played in 44 junior hockey games, most of which came with the Cochrane Crunch of the North Ontario Junior Hockey League. Anderson also had a seven-game stint with the Red Lake Miners of the SIJHL. The veteran also competed for the SIJHL’s Fort Frances Lakers for one season after two seasons with the Surrey Knights of the PIJHL. Anderson boasts considerable junior hockey experience, having played 121 career games.
“We are very happy to have Cale in a Warrior jersey this fall,” Heitkamp said. “Cale plays a physical and gritty game, but also has the offensive skill that will put him in a position where we will look to him each weekend to produce offensively. He came highly recommended to us, and I can see him assuming a leadership role during his tenure with Waldorf University. I see Cale playing a lot of minutes for us in the upcoming season. Adding Cale to our lineup makes us a better hockey team.”
The Warriors will return to action this fall looking to improve upon a fourth-place finish in the Midwest College Hockey Conference in 2021-22. Waldorf begins its new season on Friday, September 16 when they welcome the University of Oklahoma Sooners to Albert Lea City Arena for the first of two games.
