Dechaine reaches 30-goal plateau in Crunch win over Rock

COCHRANE, Ont. – Konnar Dehaine scored twice to reach the 30-goal plateau on the season in helping the Cochrane Crunch blast the Timmins Rock 6-1 Saturday in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League action at Tim Horton Event Centre.

Dechaine opened the scoring with 8:46 to go in the first period to put the home side in front.

Jacob Shankar tied it for Timmins early in the second, but the Crunch regained the lead at 3:36 as Austin Whelan supplied the eventual game-winner for Cochrane.

Darian Harris added to the lead in the final minute of the frame to put his team up by two.

Goals 49 seconds apart from Colin Boudreau and Dechaine extended the Crunch cushion in the third before Alex Brisson rounded out the night’s scoring in the final minute.

Zach Anderson chipped in with a pair of assists to aid the Cochrane cause.

Shots on goal in the contest favoured the Crunch by a 61-23 margin with Taylor Unruh picking up the win and Jeff Veitch the loss.
