The Crunch then took a 4-1 lead through two periods of play getting power play markers from Joey Mavrin and Hunter Atchison while Rayside-Balfour got one late on a man advantage marker from Kyle Fransen.

Battling back, the Canadians made it interesting goals just over four minutes apart from Ryan Mooney, Danny Lepage and Jackson Gunner to make it 5-4 with 5:50 to play.

Cochrane did manage to hang on from there getting an empty netter off the stick of Mavrin late to round out the scoring.

Brett Young made 25 saves to record the win for the Crunch, who improved to 8-1 on the year.

Kevin Labelle faced 45 shots in defeat for the Canadians who fell for a fifth consecutive game.
