Cochrane’s Maguire to attend school and play hockey at Royal Military College of Canada
COCHRANE, Ont. – The Cochrane Crunch of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League is pleased to announce that forward Seamus Maguire has committed to attend the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, Ont., and play Ontario University Athletics hockey for the Paladins in the fall.
The 20-year-old Victoria, B.C., product had a solid 2015-16 campaign with the Crunch registering 71 points in 50 regular season contests on 27 goals and 44 assists, which was the 13th highest total among all NOJHL skaters.
He also picked up five points in nine playoff games, including a pair of tallies.
“The Crunch are happy to see Seamus get this opportunity,” stated Crunch head coach, general manager and president Ryan Leonard.
“Seamus was our best overall team player and leader last year both on and off the ice which got recognized by his peers and our staff and was named MVP.”
“He is a young man who isn’t about himself he lays it out on the line for everyone in the room. For Seamus to get this opportunity to play at this level of hockey speaks for its self in what kind of young man he is.”
Maguire will enter RMC as a logistics officer in the arts department.
