Battler’s back!

The Crunch would like to welcome back a familiar face to the program. One that many will remember for his great performance in the NOJHL Championship last season.

The man behind the mask and in the crease goalie Shayne Battler.

Shayne was a big part of our playoff run after he came in for starter Taylor Unruh half way through the Timmins series.

We are hoping that Shayne comes into camp and ready to help our team this year win the Dudley Hewitt Cup.

If Shayne comes into camp in shape focused and ready to be consistent its going to be a great season for him. Shayne is capable of being the best goalie in our league when he is on his game and focused.

As this year, once again like last year, we have two goalies who can carry the load when called upon. Shayne is a team guy he is all heart and soul and loves his brothers in the room and his leadership abilities will help the team move forward.

We think this year with having Shayne and new comer Vertesi we should have the best 1-2 in the league as both have lots of experience at this level and both know that its a long season as we are guaranteed to play till May with hosting the Dudley.

Last year we played over 80 games with exhibition and it prove to be a bonus to have two capable tenders to get the job done!

Looking forward to seeing you back on the ice next week!

Its officially CRUNCHTIME!
