2016 Dudley-Hewitt Cup schedule announced

SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League, in conjunction with the Ontario Junior, Superior International and Canadian Junior Hockey League’s, have announced the game schedule for the 2016 Dudley-Hewitt Cup Central Canada Jr. A Championship, which will be held May 3-7 at the Joe Mavrinac Community Complex in Kirkland Lake, Ont.

Joining the host Kirkland Lake Gold Miners at the four-team event will be the respective champions of the NOJHL, OJHL and SIJHL.

Should the Gold Miners prevail as NOJHL champions, then the league finalist will also advance and compete at the DHC.

Round robin play will commence Tuesday, May 3 at 2 p.m. as the OJHL meets the NOJHL rep.

That will be followed by the SIJHL title holders taking on the host Gold Miners at 7:30 p.m.

Day 2 action on Wednesday, May 4 has NOJHL squaring off with the SIJHL at 2 p.m. while the OJHL tangles with Kirkland Lake in the night cap at 7:30 p.m.

On Day 3, Thursday, May 5, the SIJHL and OJHL go at it at 2 p.m. with the Gold Miners facing off with their NOJHL counterparts at 7:30 p.m.

From there the second and third place clubs after the round robin will meet in semifinal action on Friday, May 6 at 7:30 p.m.

The Dudley-Hewitt Cup will then be presented following the championship game on Saturday, May 7 as the first place team after round robin competition will go up against the semifinal winner at 7:30 p.m. to determine a winner.

From there the DHC champion will advance to represent the region RBC Cup Canadian Jr. A Championship, May 14-22, in Lloydminster, Alta.

Tournament passes for all eight Dudley-Hewitt Cup contests are $100 for adults and $60 for students 18 years of age or under. They on sale now and can be purchased via the following two options:
